A new article has been published in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews by GIST researchers Joeri Wesseling, Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Max Åhman, Lars J. Nilsson, Ernst Worrell and Lars Coenen.
The article titled: The transition of energy intensive processing industries towards deep decarbonization: Characteristics and implications for future research, can be found here.
Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Lars J Nilsson, Max Åhman and Clemens Schneider’s article Decarbonising the energy intensive basic materials industry through electrification – Implications for future EU electricity demand, has been publiched in Energy. It can be found here.
GIST researchers Teis Hansen and Lars Coenen has published a new article that unpacks resource mobilisation for biorefineries by studying investment decisions of incumbent pulp and paper firms in Sweden and Finland. The article is published in Technology Analysis & Strategic Management and can be found here.
Joeri Wesseling, Stefan Lechtenböhmer, Max Åhman, Lars J Nilsson, Ernst Worell, and Lars Coenen has together published an article that characterises the sociotechnical and innovation systems of energy-intensive processing industries in terms of stylized facts, identifying similarities and differences between the individual industries.
The article is published in Proceeding ECEEE Industrial Efficiency and can be found here.
Max Åhman, Lars J Nilsson and Bengt Johansson, all researchers of the GIST project, has published an article in Climate Policy about the future global climate policy needed to facilitate a deep decarbonization of energy-intensive industries.
The article can be found here.
GIST-researcher Joeri Wesseling has, together with Alexander Van der Vooren, published an article in Journal of Cleaner Production about lock-in of mature innovation systems, and the case of transformation toward clean concrete in the Netherlands. The article can be found here.
GIST-researchers Oscar Svensson and Roger Hildingsson presented work in progress at the RGS-IBG Annual International Conference 2016. The presentation, with the title Industrial decarbonisation: Understanding the material politics of structural transformation in energy-intensive natural resource-based industry, was included in a session on material politics and the emergence of transition pathways. More information about the session and presentation can be found here.
Oscar Svensson and Roger Hildingsson presented an article at the 2016 Berlin conference on global environmental change. The theme of the conference was transformative global climate governance in light of the Paris agreement. Oscar and Roger presented the GIST project and an article in progress about the conditions for transformation in ENRI, the possibility and need for interdisciplinarity, and governance of industrial decarbonisation.
Ellen Palm, Lars J Nilsson and Max Åhman has together published an article named “Electricity-based plastics and their potential demand for electricity and carbon dioxide” in Journal of Cleaner Production.
